The 18th of November Andalusia has been elected for the best "European destination for Golf of the year" of 2017 by the International Asociation of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO). Francisco Javier Fernández (representative of Toursim as sport) when collecting this price in palma de mayorca has recognized the great labor and colaboration by all the comunities and in the promotion and comercialisation of golf in the region.
The IAGTO has recognized Andalusia for this price for it's evident "exelence and quality" that the local golf fields offer. It stands out for the "attractive and diverse complementary offer that adapts almost to all the tastes and interests of the visitor". Having a spread of over 100 different Golf clubs with many beautiful landscapes, it has been sayed Andalusia to be "one of the destinations more Complete and competitive of the world"
In 2015 over 480,000 tourists came on "golfing holidays" to Andalusia (which is the spanish leader in golf facilities) accounting to a 4.9% higher than the previous year. With this new award, 2017 is estimated to be even more prosperous. Golf is one of the most impacting comunities in the tourism industry as the average stay for this trip is of 11 days with a much higher expenditure than the average traveler.
